Well after 39 1/2 years of working in the Water/WasteWater Treatment field, I am now officially retired as of this past Friday.

A few of the guys at work took me out to lunch, and also saw fit to decorate my truck for me.
They were a great crew to work with. We had a lot of laughs while getting a lot of work done.

No, I have not worked with this crew the entire time, just the past 6 years.

Congratulations. I hope it holds for you. I retired in 2015 (at 65), and within a year I had been called back in. I'm currently doing 60 hours a week. What's good is that I am now a contractor, not an employee. That has added 50% to my rate.

There was talk of me coming back as a consultant before I ever left. I have more experience in the field than anybody else working for the City.

Best wishes for your future from a fellow (as the sign says) "Old & in the way".
NEVER think like that, this is just the next step of a journey that will be as exciting as you decide to make it.

Pumping is always easy . . . as long as it is DOWN hill. Thanks, still planning on being out that way in the Sept-Oct time frame.
I remember how all the CRAZY's up in J'ville drove. Your description is about dead on.

Hey congratulations! I hope you find a new way of life in your retirement years. There are many who retire that get bored after because they are so used to going to their jobs for years. But I think you know how to fill the void with some fishing and guitar playing.:dood:
