Anyone up for a challenge?

For those with multiple guitars/basses. This stems from the idea that sometimes a limitation might inspire creativity by forcing you to think outside of the proverbial box.

The Challenge: Pick just one instrument, and play only that instrument for the next week. See what you can pull out of it. If you want to up the stakes, make it one that you don't play often.

Anyone?

I'm gonna try it with this one.

It is a worthy challenge, and a one pickup guitar makes it even more challenging.

My challenge comes in the way of changing my guitar every night, so I never get used to anything!

HOLD THE DAMN PHONE WHILE YOU SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!

I am supposed to play only 1 all week?
what about guitar/bass?
can I pick 1 and 1 ?

its 2 different creatures.........but only using the 1 for a week. (yes?) (Crazy Alabamie people geesh!)
Yes I suppose you can pick one of each. Since you're bi-instrumental.

That is kinda the reasoning behind this. Play only one for a week, and get to know it really well, and see if it makes a difference in the way you approach your playing. I can almost guarantee that it will.

Im game -- should we CLAIM our weapons of choice in this thread ??? and those only for 1 week till NEXT Saturday evening ???????

seriously this IS gonna be hard Sunday mornings are ALWAYS spent with my "love" ......guess she could use a Sunday off......
Yeah, state your weapon of choice in this thread, then only that axe until next Saturday evening. Then we can all check in and compare notes.

It's supposed to be hard. That's the point; to challenge/limit yourself to see what happens.

I've done this before, and it's not just the one instrument factor, It actually expanded the way I approach some things. If you want a particular sound, it's really easy to just grab another guitar. It's more challenging to adjust knobs, and picking technique to try and get the same results.

I think he said one instrument, not 3. The Flute is off limits for a week.
