Anybody Ever Disco...

...I joined the USAF in 1979 when a lot of this music was popular. They played it in all the clubs and if you wanted to get laid
you'd better get to dancin'...I didn't care much for it at the time since I was a Rocker. But hey, it grew on me in my old age.

Maybe it just brings back some sweet memories!

Microchip angles take your hand
As they lead you up
Into dis-co- land

There are some rhythms that you can’t ignore
They don’t knock lightly
They just break down the door
They pull your feet as they pulse through the floor
Our minds are on idle
As they pulse from one to four

All the machines play with one hand
Everything’s OK down in disco land

There was a signal when two brain cells crossed
It sent out a message,
Like a shot in the dark it was lost
Were trying to find it but we might get lost
Our fears have us frozen
Like the dew turned into frost

All the machines play with one hand
Everything’s OK down in disco land

We know were OK were wearing the right clothes
We know what we pay and we know that it shows
The manuals say: you’re hot when the tube glows
Four minutes to play, lets see how the song goes
(and goes and goes and goes)

All the machines play with one hand
Everything’s OK down in disco land.

I was 10 in '79--- so other than the KISS and Sabbath and Zeppelin records I had gotten from relatives and Neighbors----
I was mostly FORCED to listen to TOP 40 style radio which was NOTHING BUT DISCO --- it did introduce me to FUNK and other forms of music--- but man some of it was just bad......and not GOOD BAD , just BAD

There was only 3 people who could really play Disco.
Al Greene, KC, and Berry White.
The rest of them sucked.

I've maintained that Al Green invented Disco, which is why he's the only one who plays it worth a poop.

As much as I like Al Green, I don't consider his music as Disco IMHO.
