...and this one is a younger age.

Dolores O'Riordan, the lead singer of the Irish group the Cranberries, which rose to prominence in the 1990s, has died.

A spokesperson confirmed her death to ABC News in a statement.

"Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band the Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time."

I really liked their music a lot! Sad to see another great singer gone...

Was that the "do you have to let it linger" artist????

It was. One night years ago she joined us for one song at a pub gig. I'm trying to remember what it was - I know it was a blues standard. She was really hard to accompany though - her sense of timing was all her own.

Brother Chubs,,,,,,,,,,, I hope you live long and prosper to quote Mr Spock. So sorry to hear about the early passing of your dad.
As you and I are around the same age and my own dad is now 80, I still can't imagine being a kid and losing 1 or both parents at an early age like you and some folks I know have.

Having said that, I have thought of my one classmate's widow and 4 kids in the past 14 years as they pressed on after he died from a heart attack at age 40 in a repeat scenario he and his brothers and mom faced when his dad passed the same way around the same age.

Now thinking about Dolores,,,, I almost tear up when I hear some songs I have pulled up as a result of this post. Wishing her friends and family healing and comfort during their grieving of her death.

Thank you Dolores for the way you touched our lives too.

R.I.P. Delores. She sure was a great singer especially with her Irish accent which sounded Celtic.
