Good reason to never use Belton octal tube sockets. I had a amp build arc inside the pins 6 & 7 killing the tubes
since that experience I only use Mil Spec ceramic USA made tube sockets they cost ten times more
I had a case of 50 Belton octal tube sockets they ended up in the trash
Lol isn't that the way it goes? Gotta love voltage spikes for the seconds before they destroy things.
When I would help my dad on service calls and rewire jobs for houses in my teens and early 20s, I can't tell you how many calls we'd get saying " Well, all the lights in my house got really bright for a little bit and my fans ran fast. But then everything went dark and now only the 240v stuff works!!".
Usually was a lost neutral on the main service, where you lost the grounded conductor that essentially creates 120v, so power looking for ground finds the next best thing and grabs the other leg of the main: the other 120v and goes into series, so....they got 240v to the lighting and outlets all in the house lmao. Sure makes the lights bright and fans fast!
