Almost built some more cabs....

I've been struggling to dial in my Ceriatone JTM45 through the 1965A&B cabs.
I just wasn't getting the cleans I hear about, and the amp sounded kinda muddy when cranked.
Made me wonder if there was something wrong with the amp, but I mainly just assumed it was my incompetence.

Tried it through an unused 212 I have and was shocked at the difference.
Started shopping for cabs and almost bought a local 412 - but those things are just too big for my living room.
Tried to find some smaller 1922 2x12's but nothing local or available to ship.
Ran some numbers on some cab builds and came up with a plan for another pair of oversized 112's like I just made.

Before heading to the lumber store and ordering the rest of the stuff, I decided to lug the amp head around and try it through some other cabs I have.
Ended up at the new cabs I built last month for the JCM600.
Recently upgraded the speakers with a pair of H-75 creambacks and..
Instant love.

While it was disconnected, I tossed the JCM600 up on the 1965A&B.
Double score!

Now my OCD can't tolerate head/cabs that don't match, so...
Chassis swap today.
Trim the faceplate for the 45 and retolex.

Make a larger faceplate for the 600 and match the grills & white logo.

Plugged the old chassis holes and drilled out for the new configurations

Black cherry tolex on the 45 faceplate, and I found some black string piping...

Had to turn one of the black logos back to white, so that's still drying.
The 600 sounds massive through the 410's.

Emailed Nik at Ceriatine and he's sending me 3 gold plexi style block logos for the head and cabs.
Did all this with scraps I had laying around, so I decided to buy some gold piping to go with the logos.
The tolex on the faceplate is a little wavy, but I'll fix that when I do the piping logo swaps.

Turns out I didn't need any new cabs, I just needed to shuffle some gear around.
Stuff I do on my weekends...

Buddy, you are OCD but it makes for nice work. Well done!

Thanks!
I thought I let the tolex adhesive set too long screwing around with that string piping, but it actually wasn't ready yet.
Hit it with a little wallpaper seem roller later and it stuck right down nice and flat.
Not a fan of latex adhesive - much prefer the good old VOC contact cement - but I was using up leftovers.
Can't wait for the Ceriatone logos.

Did the logo for the "009" with a rattle can of canvas white for a kinda aged, not quite white look.
