I talked to my producer colleague and I told him...I love the work, but I feel like the added flange and phase are taking away from the original and conceptual feel of this song. I was nervous speaking those words, but he was super cool and said, "well, let's remix it then!!!"

How does the remixed version sound????
 
UPDATE:

In the interest of becoming a better producer, I have penciled in some changes I want to make to this track. We are adding the re-tracked (fatter) solo to the "Alt Mix-2" version. Solo will begin in right speaker and pick slide will pan to left speaker. Solo will play out at 80% left. Solo ends with a finger slide back to the right speaker. The descending 'Duh-Duh-Duh' phrase will pan right-center-left throughout the song and the unaccompanied vocal section volume will be dropped 3db for clarity.

Should be kinda like a cool "Director's Cut" version....
