I spent a few days playing around with this to get the picking technique correct and the chords correct. The engineer doing the mastering commented on the bass track saying, "It's not bad but it's not a killer." He suggested that I re-track it and make it "punchier."
I told him that the bass was not a conventional style and that it doesn't have a common bass tone either. I acknowledged a few mistakes, but also expressed my desire to remain faithful to the original arrangement and energy. We are leaving the track as-is, but since there was so much critiquing of this track, I thought I would post it here for you guys.
Thoughts???
