Are you building a 300 watt?
Serves you right, for taunting the Canucks.WTF?!?!?!?!??! oh HELL your gonna SOLDER arent you ?!?!?!?!?!?! ugh
Are you building a 300 watt?
You got some of those giant Canadian transformers...
Oh that's right...I forgot everything in Texas is bigger.
tastes like chickenServes you right, for taunting the Canucks.
You know who else uses those big trannys?I am.
oh....................so many jokes..............so little timeYou know who else uses those big trannys?
You know who else uses those big trannys?
Ben Verellen. He builds a nasty loud amp, and it's called a "Meat Hammer."
It's gotta be the loudest guitar amp I ever heard.
It has like a 700 volt power supply...
But dude,
Don't you need a filament power transformer, besides the power and output you already have?
I think those 300 watt amps use a separate filament power transformer as I recall.
But how much do they weigh? Will the amp need to be modular for transport, or will it have wheels?
An amp with those type trannys weighs approximately 85-90 pounds....But how much do they weigh? Will the amp need to be modular for transport, or will it have wheels?
It's very similar to the real Magnavox SVT power transformer. (not made in China real SVT)Ohmed the OT and everything looks good to the resolution of my meters.
I couldn’t resist a quick check of unloaded voltage on Red-Red.

So...
895/2=447.5*1.414=634VDC unloaded is a good guess, no?

I guess you could call it the new SVT.
It's basically a Marshall preamp with a SVT power amp.
But the air pressure will blow the speaker cable plug right out of the jack on the cabinet...

so those "big trannys can really blow" is what your saying AMS????????
uhm.........dude are you INTENTIONALLY feeding me straight lines? or is it just a happy accident?
