The board - all FX except delay are on 100% of the time. The "flat" EQ is used only as a boost for solos.

Here are the speakers - 80 watt Jensen & 50 watt WGS Reaper 55Hz

Here's my rig and the Jackson San Dimas I got from @eSGEe. The Jackson is (now) fitted with a - then experimental - 2002 GFS 'Double Slug' humbucker measuring 14k.

Here is the last 30 seconds of our band performing Boston's "Rock N Roll Band."

Note that I keep my pedalboard near my amp, so I only have one cable running up to my spot behind the microphone. I feel like it's much cleaner and affords me much more mobility.

We have three guitarists and we all alternate between rhythm and lead, depending on the song.

My primary role, however, is rhythm. My "job" is to provide a harder, more overdriven tone to augment the "cleaner" tones of the other two guitarists.

I'm also the chief backup vocalist and I sing lead on about a third of our group's songs.

It's really a fun job...:-)

Sounds great, as usual.

I've been meaning to ask what your bandmates think of your newer tone?

Curious on what they think.

Thanks, Man!!!!

I got hugely positive feedback from the band members on "how clean the guitar cut through the mix" and how "each guitar had a distinctive voice." At least 5 people in attendance came up asking about the rig and commenting on our overall mix. We were just running stage volume with P.A. only for vocals, so getting a good mix is a huge thing.

Keep in mind that my tone hasn't changed dramatically. The biggest change is the more mid-ranged tone of the Schecter and Jackson and the darker voicing of the WGS Reaper 55hz speaker allowing even more mids to be used.

While my volume level is on-par with our two other guitarists, my use of a very dramatic mid-range boost gives me a sonic edge in the mix.

I self-regulate my place in the mix with my volume knob, so I can blend my volume level to fit my place in the song.

The only drawback is I can't get a volume pot to last more than about 3 months.

Coolest thing looking at this pic and thinking...I have worked on every guitar and bass that we have and serviced all the guitar amplifiers too.

I'm the resident fix-it guy...

Amps shown (from left) are Greg Germino Lead 55 head and Germino 4x12 cabinet with Altec 100 watt 417-8H Series I Speakers. The head is fitted with JJ5751's and Genelex EL-34's. Its biased to about 33ma. This amp is exclusively used for clean passages on the Gibson Firebird and is A/B switched.

Two DSL40C'S - The top one is totally stock (the Les Paul's amp) and still has the Celestion 70/80 speaker.

The bottom one (my amp on loan) is fitted with Electro-Harmonix 12VR75 speaker and ECC823/ECC83S/5751/ECC81 tube rollout.

Its nice to be the amp/guitar tech...

We keep a 1999 Marshall MG50CRD as a backup...but I carry a full compliment of tubes and tools with me for on-site repairs.
