2017 SUX!!!

Last month we found out my daughter has stage 4 cancer. Today I found out she is in the hospital with pneumonia.

3 weeks ago one of my life long friends had his heart stop beating and lungs stop breathing. The paramedics brought him back to life after suffering from a heart attack. He is still in the hospital after a double bypass and may have to have his leg amputated.

3 weeks ago my employer told me I would get my hours cut in 1/2. I've interviewed for a job 4 times without receiving an offer yet.

This past weekend I heard from my other life long friend since 1st grade that he has bone cancer.

I am in a spot where I might lose my daughter, my 2 best friends and my job. I sure as hell hope 2018 is a better year!!!!

Oh, man. I'll drink to you and the hope that things will change tonight.

Sometimes the stars seem to align in the worst possible way...

In the last month, my wife lost both her remaining grandparents, and one of the students in her department (she is head of administration in the linguistics department at the local university) died in an accident while visiting France on an exchange program. She's been only been working 50 % since June because of exhaustion and the three deaths haven't exactly made things better. It's been a rough month, to put it that way. This week is the autumn break from school for my kids, so I'm taking two days off (starting tomorrow) to spend with the family.

HOWEVER, I feel really blessed that my kids are healthy, have good friends and are enjoying school. I simply cannot imagine what it must feel like to see a son or daughter sick like what you are experiencing at the moment, Wav.

I tell you, lately, when I get up in the morning, the first thing I do is check the forum to see if you have posted any news on your job hunt. I'm serious. I really hope things will turn out well for you. And I think the rest of the guys here feel exactly the same way.

It's not the year, it's just the unpredictability of our human lives. The longer we're alive, the more stuff we have to witness... sometimes good, and unfortunately, sometimes bad.

Personally, I deeply feel for the unfair situation of your daughter, Charlene, and your financial and job situation. With all this going on, please don't forget to take care of yourself, too.
 
Grant...I am so sorry to hear all of this news. I wish there was something I could do. Just know that
you and your family are in my thoughts and I wish the best for you, especially for your daughter...

Like others have said Grant, hoping and wishing the best for your daughter, your friends and yourself.
Nothing I can say will fix anything, but you are among caring friends and any one of us would and will do whatever we can to help.

You must be going through a lot of stress right now...sorry to hear about your misfortunes. Things are bound to change for the good eventually. Just keep positive Wav and things will look up for you eventually. I'm wishing you the best my friend.

We should all be here to help support each other during the bad times, as well as prodding each other into buying more guitars and amps the we probably really need. Air away my friend I for one am here for you and all ears. I am sure everyone else is also.
