Point taken...the kids today have it better than I did....if they want it.
I had the pleasure of having a Memphis Strat copy with buttery soft fretwork, and a plywood body that probably weighed in at more than my T-40...the electronics were crap, the neck was ok...I guess, the trem was useless, but the tuners were even worse. You could have bludgeoned Eastern Europe with the thing though, and it would have held together...the core was tough stuff...I think the body had some fiberglass reinforcement. But I think it cost twice as much as the one in the video 35ish years ago...so with inflation....
Yes, I would have destroyed it(the one in the video above), but it would have taught me to take care of the things I care about pretty quick...and a lot cheaper.
