To my ears, the 10s were nice but something needed to be done about the treble harshness; the 12s sounded fantastic; the 15s were meh...; the 18 sounded great.

So many other factors to consider, so this is just a fun sound comparison really.

In the last 6 months or so I really discovered I like 10's and above--- I got rid of all my 8" or less speakers--- 10's in the right amp---are lovely-- but overall 12's my preference for guitar amps

15" for bass amps

Yeah, that's what I heard.

This video is a nicely done video showing 5 different speakers and their characteristics:

Both Eminence were dull. The Jensen was better but still a bit lifeless. The Greenback was pretty much where I want it, and the Vintage 30 just a little too bright.

Once again, I agree with that assessment.

But, I could hear nice tones in the other speakers, just not the ones I's prefer for bluesy rock to 60s rock/metal and onto 70/80s punk rock.

Definition the 12" for me. The 10s were a close second though. Now I know why I like my 12" and 10" cab so much!!

For guitar, Goldmember digs either Greenback or V30 12s. For bass, he's been really digging the 10 in his Fender Bassman TV 10.

I thought the 12 sounded the best, by far. To me, the 15 sounded horrible.
The 10 and 18 fell in between, and had some good quality of tones.

Absolutely the 12.
