Awhile back I posted a thread about how I found this guy Rick Beato and his breakdown called
The Art of Soloing. Here it is and it seems thanks to that video, Peter got wind of it and we now have the 2nd video I am posting this thread about because Peter's son told him about Rick doing such an honor to his playing.



Now, as I was basically listening to other clips by general youtube members who posted some lessons,,,,, suddenly autoplay brought up the first of 2 Rick Beato clips and this is the 2nd of those 2. I have watched the first 10 minutes and within the first few, I basically went WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW @ how incredibly priceless the meeting between Rick and Peter happens to be and Rick is now sharing the experience with us via nearly 42 minutes with him on youtube.

I do not play ANY instruments. I have no idea what you are talking about, but I always watch in amazement how you break things down. I find your videos very interesting. You do play damn good though.

Buy a guitar bud...it just takes time. Anybody can do it if they devote the time to it. I can't tell how many people have said to me , "I wish I could play guitar...but I just don't have it..." Have it? It? Everybody has it...they just have to coax it out.

@ 2000cobraguy : The thing that great musicians and great listeners have in common, are great ears. But although you can be a great listener without being a great musician, one cannot ever become a great musician without first being a great listener.
 
Guess I won't stop with Rick Beato and Frampton,

I was enjoying some old Malmsteen and then pulled up some Buckethead.
Guess I will post both fellas.



 
Rick Beato is great. At any given time, half of what he is saying will go right over my head, but even then I feel like I'm learning stuff. And it's not just his videos on actual guitar playing that are great. His "What makes this song great" series is awesome, and the things he does on production and recording are also very interesting. Check out his vids on John Bonham's drum sound, for instance. Great stuff.

I even bought his book. One of these days I'm actually going to open it!
 
I love how Frampton explains his playing.....writing...and how they got the live tone
The rig was simple......and the majority (my take away anyway) was ...... noodling.....riffs chords ....and collaboration between members
Not "I sat down and wrote this" it was the guys said that's good ...let's add this or take away that and it was a group effort ......and I never knew the story of that amazing les paul......very cool video!!
