New Guitar Paint Day! For the strat. I'm getting excited now!

I like anything that doesn't require me to buy more materials. For these, I ripped a 1/16" piece of maple from some scrap and used a 1/4" plug cutter to make the dots. I did the same with rosewood scrap on a maple fretboard a made a couple of years ago. I also made my own face grain side dots...

I would have never thought of making a blue guitar. But then Ray was telling her take one, please, in blue! Suddenly, I had to do LPB. I've got the past on order from ReRanch.

I totally share your sentiment regarding playing skill. It's like Ray (RVA) told me yesterday, "building skill guess much slower than building guitars."

So lots of progress already today and it's only lunchtime: I also got the back of the headstock drilled out for the Fender style tuning peg locator holes but neglected to take a picture of that.

Thanks. By the way, where it looks like an indentation in the am contour is just an optical illusion caused by the grain patterns in the different layers that make up the body.

Got the Fretboard glued up. I also got the nut blank fitted: Also, a sneak peek at what it's going to look like: The pickguard doesn't fit around the bridge so it will need some adjustment with the Dremel.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who occasionally makes mistakes. Actually, mine are much more than occasionally.

One of the guitar parts on the original "Can't Find My Way Home" is done on an acoustic. You just can't get that sound anywhere else.
