Possible NGD. Wish me luck!

On a serious note: How dangerous are the soldering fumes, really? Is the problem long-time exposure, or is acute poisoning an actual danger?

Opening paragraph:

Health hazards from inhaling and exposure to soldering fumes.
Manufacturers of flux usually point out that inhaling flux fumes, created when flux is heated to soldering temperatures, will cause irritation to nose, throat and respiratory organs. Health authorities also state that extended or repeated exposure to rosin flux may cause hypersensitivity and lead to occupational asthma.

Updates...Ghar?

Well, I'm playing the guitar... It sounds really good. I'll try to get around to making some sound clips, but I don't know when I'll have the time. The Throbak PG-102s are staying in the Les Paul for sure.

I actually found a TRC with a wider bevel in a Norwegian store. Hopefully I'll have it in a couple of days. It's a minor detail, but I really like the wide bevel. I will try to snap a couple of pics on Friday. I'm taking the day off then and will be at home when the light is still decent.

Sounds GREAT! I agonize over the little details....I can appreciate that.

My SG has what looks like a 4 or 5 ply pickguard with a very wide bevel....looks cool, Man.

It's not like I agonize over it, it is more that I have a lot of fun messing around with stuff like that. Especially with guitars I like. I started out loving this guitar, and it is growing on me.:D It deserves to be cared for.

I really wanted to pull the trigger on a set of Throbaks today; a used pair of SLE-101 Plus pups came up for sale here, but I don't have the money right now, even though they were half the price of a new set. They had had a magnet flip (done at the factory) and would have been a very good choice for the Derek Trucks SG. But the SG still sounds excellent with the SD Seth Lover and 57 Classic.

Getting a new guitar is a funny thing. With some of my guitars, while I have been happy with them, they have not necessarily inspired me enough to really push myself into trying to learn new stuff. But with some I get really inspired and play a lot more than I normally do. It was like that when I got the DT SG, the Future Tribute, to a certain degree with the Les Paul Junior, and now again with the Goldtop. When I play it through the Gibson Skylark Amp, the tone just screams jump blues. For the last days I've spent a lot of time on YouTube watching jump blues lessons. I'm definitely no jazz player, but learning some jazzy jump blues licks is really cool. I've played more since I got the Goldtop a week ago than I have in the last month before. Tons of fun!
