I actually know nothing about these, just saw the photos and thought you'd like to see them.
I have a feeling that this is art... not a practical instrument. That could be wrong, maybe the
sculptor who put all those parts together also was podners with a luthier who knows how
to set the doggone thing up, if that's possible.
Comparing one of these to a wooden 20th century guitar is not sensible. There's no way the tone
could compare. These are 19th century electric guitars that like, predate electricity. Or at least
the kind we're used to. These run on whale oil, or maybe early kerosene. Some of them might be
coal fired, I dunno. They had DC power in the 19th century, but nothing much to connect with, or to.
Just for fun... or to by for large money and hang on the wall in your recording studio.
