This 1995 MIC The Bullet Series Strat is the first Strat I ever owned. My parents bought it for me for Christmas that year, which was my sophomore in college. We didn't have much money at all so the sale price that they paid for it, I am sure made it feel like it was an MIA in today's prices. Still, they made it happen.
Bottom shelf guitar that was was looked down upon by just about everybody but, I loved it, and still do!
At this point, the only original pieces on it are the body, though it has been reshaped and refinished, the neck (refretted) and the bridge plate and spring claw.
Several years back, I stripped the black poly off of it and painted it a red/blue flip-flop with an aluminum pickguard. At that time, it was my first refinish and it was definitely obvious. I decided it was time to bring it to the level of my skills today, so when I got my hands in some LPB I knew it was finally time.
This time I stripped it, re-shaped all of the contours to make the top bout more like a 50's body but a little thinner and smoother still. This thing is truly sexy! All of the curves are both deep and subtle without any ridges. I also opened up the bottom cutout for better access to the upper frets.
The paint is as close to the original LPB that is made today with the newer formulas. I also shot the clear with a Nason 2K UV protected clear. The neck on this thing is very unique in that the flaming and figuring is identifiable at a glance.
The pickups are wired with a 3 way switch (tele style). The middle pickup is also wired to a blend pot that I can blend in either parallel (strat quack) or Series (humbucker-ish). It also has one of the last sets of Rose Robusta/Buff Beauty pickups in it and I had the BB made with flat poles.

Sure it's a $200 guitar what isn't valued high enough to have the several thousand dollars worth of parts and paint and labor thrown at it but it is worth so much more than the sum of its parts.

Now fir the PORN!
