Ruh - roh. Just totally undid all that tone shaping past three months. Luckily have 2 weeks until for 1st full band practice at volume to get spot on.

50/25 watt , 6l6, just busted every single JCM 900 Hi Gain amp myth in 10 minutes. Set up Chan 1 clean for pedals & its darn good on its own & dimed channel 2. The Reverb is excellent & being 6l6 it takes my pedals very good. The hi gain channel with Boss SD-1 boost is sick !!! Its thick..its raw & its heavy without being overdone or any fizz at all !!. Basically at the range of heavy music where i was & stopped listening after 90's somewhere .

I have kept first run v30/t75 just in case & traded Fender Pro900.jpg900 a.jpg900 b.jpgn that PV 2x12 its v30/t75 china & its a beast !! Funny how a piece of gear can lite you up. This will be so easy to gig. Impressed to say the least.

I absolutely love the JCM 900. It's a beast !

To be fair the 6101 is a 3 channel 100 watt tiny 1x12 combo. 900 totally unnecessary.
Had the 6100 & wish i kept it. My assessment is honestly they are 2 dif beasts.

Think of this as the Marshall that can layer right on top a Recto, it has no flub in low end. Not a recto by my means but Marshall made the amp that absolutely suited the 90's.

It is very in your face in all the good ways. It's a lead players dream. Very touch responsive,

Going to tun some dif cabs but the v30/75 2x12 was right on.

Was thinking of hacking it down to a head cause will never use it as combo. But you really don't gain much. It is a small combo. Thinking more taking speaker out & it might hold what pedals i decide to go with,

The Mig 50-Bug v22-JCM 900 sitting beside each other on 2x12 cabs is a never ending tone journey. Nice contrasts in feel & sound & can use any one for band. Maybe the mood will decide. The Bug & 900 are just a few pedals cause the circuits have amazing dirty & clean on its own. Mig can shape anyway you want it with pedals & the amp takes on the characteristic of the pedal others don't so much

I had the 100w 2 x 12 . The only amp I might like better would be the JCM 800 but the 900 might do some things the 800 is not set up for. Critics of the 900 don't like it. I think it was my favorite amp.

Have yet to find a bad sounding 900, the same critics never demo they just regurgitate info..also 800's they jam all kinda diodes in the front end to get them boosted or clipping..no dif really than what a 900 is doing

I loved my 800 & plexi's no doubt but the 900 has they best MV ever played on a 2 chan amp..no character loss or fundamental tone change..

Marshall really did make one of the best MV amps in the 900 that actually functions from barely on to band level.

Ever notice most hate gets verbally barked out in life but no real substance behind it other than jealousy or gang mentality..not just amps...in general..

Ditto!!

Here is the board for the 900. Hours upon hours with the amps trying to Play "For the Lost" & "Our America" albums for the band set. Finally had to pull the trigger on gig rig. Going with this board into 900 & the Boss MS3 which has 4 settings. Amp on own- Delay & Chorus for 2 songs, Phaser(just because) & plate reverb(900 reverb is fine tho)

Hard part was getting FTL sounds from 2016 back-mostly into the BUG v22-the el 84 tendencies is slightly early break with a slight fizz on tap, very nice controllable amp.

Choose the 900 cause OA interests me more & the Marshall origin was the backbone of the recordings, The 900 cops that easily on clean side & then is just the thickest crunch & standout leads with out much fuss except proper OD to just lift it. So here are the lifters

1) Tuner
2) Catalinbread Karma Suture- use it for slight germanium style fuzz for FTL songs(hard to fizz the 900 but it edges it a bit)
3) Joyo Vintage OD- volume dimed but some gain for slight crunch power
4) Lovepedal Reamer- set classic TS boost for marshall- Volume dimed-gain off & tone to suit
5) Dr Bob-crazy amout of clean boost variations available on it-use it mostly to position gain in a mix
6) Mythical OD-Klon clone use for the "transparent" more of sound without any tonal change in what is there & just a bit louder clean when on neck pup on rythym strums

Very Simple - easy to use set up, also the PV cab with V30/t75 is the cab. Going to run it vertical & build a road case that holds this all so from LR to bandroom to gig all i have to do is hook up the extension cord & playM brd.jpg
