OK, that is just as cool or better !
Phew....
That one is just a 6 acoustic and 6 electric, I've contemplated building a 12/6 tele stile with acoustic on top. Much like Slashes Crossroads from Guild back in the late 90's.Awesome stuff!
Man, a doubleneck 12 string acoustic and 6 electric would be rad.
Yrah that's what gave me the idea. Your picture I mean. Uber cool! That one is just a 6 acoustic and 6 electric, I've contemplated building a 12/6 tele stile with acoustic on top. Much like Slashes Crossroads from Guild back in the late 90's.
They are hydroformed front and back skins with a framework inside. They are leftovers from the run of aluminum bodies made for Fender in the early 90'sVery cool. Are the aluminum Strats solid, or are the welded skins over a frame? It looks like I see some welding poking out of the second photo.

Ya, those would be if solid 6061, I've seen some milled from solid billet. But they were machined out hollow from the back with a cover plate bolted on. These are extremely light, maybe 3lbs, Fender did several engraved themes of the aluminum bodies. HD, Aloha, Ford Mustang, and a run of just plain polished aluminum.Wicked cool. Didn’t know that they had done that. When I worked for Mazak, one of the applications engineers made some solid aluminum Strat bodies for IMTS on a five axis mill. Don’t know what ever became of the bodies. They were probably given to customers. They must have been heavy as hell made from solid 6061-T6.
