New Amp Stand On-Stage RS6000 Foldable Tiltback Amp Stand

I've been toying with the idea of a stand for my Vox AC15C1 amp for some time. In the practice studio I've taken to leaning it against a wall to get some tilt and live it's usually been perched on a milk crate. In the studio it's been fine but the milk crate means that my knees get to hear the best sound rather than my ankles when the amp is on the floor.

After a fair bit of looking around I went with this one. I like it because it gives a good angle, the amp is not too high off the floor and it can sit centred on the stand and I can still plug in the power cable and the foot-switch cable. A Number of the stands I tried obscured one or the other or you had to sit it too far in one direction to plug in the power!

So here is my latest purchase - the On-Stage RS6000 Foldable Tiltback Amp Stand. The downside for some will be that the height and angle are not adjustable. Lucky for me it is exactly what I wanted. :celebrate2:

Nice!! Better angle and a little further off the floor in case of water.

And it may not be adjustable, but it is better than flat on the floor, unless your audience has fallen, and they can't get up.

The punters on the floor are usually asleep so with the amp angled up and away from them I'm less likely to wake them :rolf:

Classy.

Have you considered melding together several milk crates until you get the perfect angle? There's a lot of potential for milk crates...

I did wonder if I had a way of melting a deep enough V shape into one so that the amp could sit in it at an angle but the manufactured stand seemed like a better option.
 
good move, and an excellent choice.

I put my Vox VT-30 on a stand too, and it sounds much better when I got it off the floor.
Mine's made by "Onstage Stands" as well I believe, and it folds up small too. Very handy.
I had to paint my "Chromie" front grill with some theatre black (flat) to keep it from reflecting
into the eyes of the audience in an obnoxious way.

Mine's got a screw mount for a microphone extension arm, which cuts down on floor clutter
so I don't trip on it and fall into the mosh pit. Your RS6000 stand can be adjusted for amp angle by the olde "sneaker under the back frame" method... or a brick, or you can make something from scrap lumber and paint it theatre black...

I did see the stand you have Col Mustard and I thought it was a great idea, but I didn't see it in any stores in my city and sometimes the wait for an item to be posted is just too long to bear even if it is just a week and I'm not intending to use it in that time. I take a while to weigh up any expenditure on music gear and it's impact on the family finances, but once I make a decision to buy I get quite impatient.
I reckon having the built in mic'ing option is really cool.

I wondered why the guy at the store asked if I wanted the optional black sneaker as well? :rolf:
