Carvin CC275 finish issue or is it a bridge issue

And there isn't any. I kept playing it. Funny u post Willy's as that is exactly the thing I had in mind when I mentioned just chipping it off so it would just look like a worn area or like Ed Sheeran's
The bracing inside the guitar comes loose from under the top.
Then the bridge is able to lift from the tension of the strings.
And so eventually the bridge will pop off or the guitar becomes unplayable.....
A luthier can sometimes re-glue the bracing.
The finish bubble is a symptom of the top distorting from string tension.

This is extremely possible....as I mentioned before, I‘ve not had any experience with the pinless bridges...like the one on that Carvin. If there is any other signs of top distortion, or bridge lifting, the problem should be addressed.
But:
It seems the bridge is still securely attached and the thing plays just fine
And it looks like @syscokid has posted a video that may answer some “construction” questions.

Sure looks like the bridge has moved under string tension. Have you used a mirror to look from the inside? I’ve never looked inside mine but might just dig it out and see.

Go to the video I just posted and right about the 3:40 mark, the bridge is assembled. It looks pretty solid and screwed down into the body.

Indeed, and it’s a string-through body with ferrules....looks pretty frikken solid there. So the string tension is shifted downward a bit more than a traditional acoustic. Looks more like a chambered electric guitar than an acoustic.
Thanks for posting that video.

A few more. I’ve had this around 20 years and this is the first time the cover plate has been off. Nice touch on the brass inserts for the screws!

Replaced the battery while I was at it.

The bridge sits on two, roughly, 7-8mm pins(dowels) set into a block that’s left in the body blank after chambering...a pretty solid affair, with very little tension actually pulling the bridge anywhere but down or very slightly forward, thanks to the string through design.

I've never seen the inside up close like that.

Not so familiar with Carvin, sure looks like top notch quality, built to a high standard. Looks like someone that took pride in their work, beautiful guitar.
