So, Natalie (my daughter) went with me to Guitar Sinner and decided she wanted to start learning guitar. I had her hold several and she felt the Strat body shape was the most comfortable. She wanted this Squire in Fiesta Red, but it wasn't available, so the closest I could find was this Wine Red H-S-S Squire with Amp, Strap, Bag, Tuner, Pics, Strings and Instruction Book for $249.00...can't beat a deal like that...

Did she get it today?

I got exactly that set (including the colour) for my niece Felix last Christmas. The guitar is fine quality, and packs some amazing Strat sounds. I did have to do some work on it though. The nut is cut uncomfortably high so that got filed. While I was at it, I decided to run a level over the frets - shouldn't have bothered. They were as flat as a pancake. Brilliant guitar. And even the little amp has some great sounds built into it. No need to change that in the near future.

Yes!

I have a soft spot for Squirecasters anyways and she is very interested in learning, so I wanted her to have the best start. the entire setup looks really useful. I have plans to replace my DD-3 with a DD-7 and pass that along as well.

My youngest, 8 years old, inherited my 1997 Marshall Valvestate VS265 to use with his Ibanez short scale.

When I say including the colour, I was having a brief senior moment. Hers is this colour (taken during unnecessary fret level)

I LOVE that color...

I would LOVE to have one that color....hardtail, three humbuckers with the wine red on the headstock too...

Wife made me promise no modifications!!!!

Deep Purple....5FDP...she likes the usual Top 40 stuff that she and her friends like, but she is quick to point out, "it's not guitar music..."

Pretty much the same for Felix. I taught her smoke on the water, then forbade her to play it ever again. She's cool with that. Now she's getting to grips with some Iommi.
