Old trem, new trem (tagima)

Wore out the original tremolo with screw in arm on my Tamgima 61 Woodstock guitar - well, the screw in arm anyways. The arm got so it was just too wobbly and too much to mess with using Teflon tap etc to get to where it didn't bug me. So, picked up a Wilkinson WVS50IIK tremolo for it.

Pretty much just dropped in. The two screw holes in the Wilkinson claw had a more narrow space than the original Tagima claw, so I used the Tagima claw and screws. Also, the Wilkerson studs are fine threaded and the Tagima studs are coarse thread, so had to pop out the Tagima studs/inserts and pop in the Wilkinson studs/inserts. The Tagima studs where is firm, but not ridiculously so. The Tagima inserts had a diameter of just shy 10mm and the Wilkinson inserts were just over 10mm - so, the Wilkinson studs went in nice an tight, but not unduly so...

So far I'm liking the looks and feel of the Wilkinson tremolo - time will tell as I tweak a little here and there looking for the guitar/trem sweet spot.

Here are a couple pics of the original Tagima bridge and the new Wilkinson bridge.

GFS does to

Ya, but you know me and GFS pups - I just haven't cared for 'em up to this point. Would rather use Epi Probuckers, but, with that said I haven't tried their gold foil p90 sized humbuckers. So, who knows.

I'm just thinking about getting me a second one of these guitars and putting humbuckers in it, but gotta get a second guitar before getting humbuckers, so...

I've always been a huge fan of Wilkinson trems ever since I had one on a Washburn years ago. I'm not big on the double-locking as I don't dive-bomb or Steve Vai my way around the fretboard.

If it's not a hard-tail, I always try to find the Wilkinson's.
