I make my own necks out of a 1.5"x 1.5" x 36" piece of red oak.


I open the headstock


Then start removing material as needed for the shape I'm after.


I round the back as needed for fretting hand comfort,


Then add my headstock wings that give the tuners the section width of wood they need to fit.


After that its finishing & fretting.

Sometimes I even get creative and my headstocks take on a life of they're own.





Oh and scale length can be whatever you wish.
I have a fretting chart that goes from 13" to 31.5 inch scale length.
I can go from uke scale to baritone.
