Interesting situation reared its head this week re: recording guitars.
I use a Boss BR 800 digital recorder as my audio device, usually go from balanced line out of attenuator to balanced line in on audio device.
Upon RTFM I realized I can unbalanced to an input for instrument level , thought I'd try it out.
Recorded a few guitar parts, liked how the levels were hitting Reaper.
Upon playback it sounded like I was using a phaser? WTH, no effects were used.
So, using some of Reapers phase tools I identified items recorded with the instrument levels out of phase, the balanced inputs had zero issues.
I guess the pre amps for the balanced inputs prevented this.
Anyone else ever run into issues like these?
Just really weird, was pedaling the open E string, swear it sounded like I had a Phase 90 at about half wet mix?
I think I have it sorted, but wiser minds may know of other reasons for this behavior.
Chime in if you have ever had, or heard of this happening.
