Hadn't planned to buy anything so soon but this was another too-good-to-pass-up deal; Guitar Center misidentified the model and listed it at a price I couldn't resist.
Zerberus Chimaira.
Korina body, thick flame maple top, long tenon neck joint, ebony board, roller nut.
Only forty-one made, from the first NAMM 2012 prototype to the last ones built in 2015.
Sale pic was badly underexposed; I could recognize the model but won't know until it arrives whether this one is an amber Magma Burst or the lighter Fire Burst. I hate buying online. Still, guitar guys at the Erie store where it was assure me the guitar is in good shape and there are no issues with the neck.
Some pics of this model from the maker:
Fire Burst

Magma Burst

Am thinking this might inspire me to thin the herd a bit; there are a few in the stable that I stand to could part with.
None of them qualify as dead wood, but some really don't get played as often as they deserve to be.
I have a really hard time letting go of instruments.
Once they're gone, they're gone, and In the past for me selling has sometimes turned out to be a mistake.
