Instrument Cables, let's hear your preference.

I know choices in instrument cables run across the board, from the high capacitance "coily" types that roll off some high end, through "whatever's in easy reach at the music store" on to the high end (& sometimes expensive) low loss, low capacitance cables.
I'm in the later category, liking not only the high end, but also the definition & clarity that a low loss, low capacitance cable offers. For more than a decade I've been using the Klotz "La Grange" cable, simply because my local music store stocked it. This cable's specs are similar to George L's or Mogami at around 75pf/meter. Some months ago however, the bass player put me onto the "Sommer SC Spirit LLX" instrument cable. This is advertised as a "low, low loss" cable with a capacitance of 52pf/meter, & I love it. If you like the clarity of a quality, low capacitance cable, do yourself a favour & check this cable out.
So, what's your preferred cable & why. Cheers

You probably can't get these in the US. They are made by a Canadian company, Yorkville, and sold in their Long and McQuade chain of stores.
I like these. They work well with a solid connection. They don't fall out of my strat like many cables. They seem to last forever. They coil up nicely without kinks. They are inexpensive. If they colour the sound I can't hear it. What more could you ask for.

Been using Monster. Where I’ve played, the 6 footers have always been long enough. Used the acoustic Monster when I played my acoustic at church and have the “rock” Monsters for the electrics.

Do/can cords make a difference? I can say that doing an A/B with my acoustic plugged into the sound board. There was definitely a difference. Guitar was brighter using a Rock Monster but was fuller, more acoustic using the acoustic cord.

Yorkville. I have a YGM3 purchased way back in 1974. Wasn’t aware of their assessories.

Never been much of a cable sniffer, but I do have a Monster & a Lava cable.
If I play out at a bar jam, one of those goes.
Noise factor is what seems to differ from cheapo cables.
I can hear a cheap cable drag across the floor.
Now by cheap I mean the included with guitar kinda cheap. Radio Shack cheap.
If they take a tap, you hear a thunk. They're microphonic.
The premium cables have no such problem.

I found a Moskey buffer for $15 put it at end of my 2 boards connected at home work station (think 18 pedals in a row on it) dead silent..no loss.. was shocked when i a/b compared the 10 ft expensive cable strait in & the pedal circuit..no dif...was shocked no noise or signal loss...my rig at home has 10ft into board the 10' to amp. Just cheapies

humor time..just took a call..the dog locked a person out of the house....lol....we were laughing...he went out to car & the dog leaned on door & it locked...

Ours have done that -- I went toi get the mail and got locked out-- luckily the back door was unlocked---
also we have to lock the dead bolt when we leave Odin knows how to turn the knob and open the door----- if we are HOME or NOT--
luckily he hasnt figured out the dead bolt

many dogs have been able to open the door up before we get there...on the cars. quite often

I have one Mogami cable between the guitar and pedals. Then the rest are all either Planet Waves, or made at a local shop by the name of Performance Music. None are cheap, or overly expensive. All decent quality cables. They all have lifetime warranties, but the only issues I’ve ever had are ever where the cable is soldered to the jack. I just repair them, and play ‘em again.

I had a cat years ago that could open interior doors. Even when he had to pull them in instead of pushing.
We had a cat years ago that would open the pantry door and knock the box of food on the floor.
And if he couldn’t find what he wanted there , he would open the refrigerator door, and he new when it was 5:00 , feeding time and if you took your sweet time .
He would open the fridge first then proceed to the pantry!!
