Well it's another day here at Possum Lodge and Harold has been feverishly itching for a red/green guitar. A 1996 MIM Fender Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red that has been sitting up in the attic collecting dust bunnies. An unfinished project I hope to one day complete soon, but first I'll give you a run down of all the upgrades.

1. The fret board is being scalloped Ala Ritchie Blackmore style.
2. Seymour Duncan pick ups in the neck & bridge positions.
3. A series/parallel switch for the bridge pup.
4. A green middle pick up.
5. A fixed bridge with a wood block in the trem cavity.
6. Schaller strap-locks.
7. A Graph-Tech or bone nut.

And I think that is it for now but here are some photos of the guitar I hope to finish when "Stinky" Peterson moves out of my tool-shed.:)

Disclaimer: No duct-tape will be used in this project.
Well signing off for now and remember...if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy. Keep your stick on the ice.(y)

For the bridge pick up I will be using a Seymour Duncan Hot Stack for Strat just like in the picture below. Notice is has two lead wires that are red & green for that RED/GREEN tone. I found a DPDT 2-way switch laying around for series/parallel switching of the pick up for 2 distinctive tones.

And for the neck pick up a Seymour Duncan Hot for Strat like below and I think it is an SSL-3 Alnico V with a high output. This will be a great screaming BLUES pick up for the RED/GREEN guitar. I think this pick up was intended for the bridge position...but not no more!

The middle pick up will be the original ceramic single coil with the cover I painted green. I also spray painted the pole pieces an antique copper tone for a really nice visual effect. I liked the original ceramic pick ups and they sound really good. People in general give them a bad rap for no real reason.
