Three Day Weekend and...

“two schmucks and a truck” type of outfit.
Amen brother----- AMEN!

Happens to me all the time--- I average 2-4 quotes per day--- depending on the day -- some 1500.00 some 250,000.00 all take TIME--- while I am SUPPOSED to be out cold calling/prospecting and selling---
its the old fish or cut bait deal---
Prospect or bid--prospect or bid--prospect or bid--- if you Prospect well, you get to bid-- the more you prospect the more you bid.......the more you bid the more you SELL---oh and you want a raise??? --- well SELL MORE is always the answer.........uhm WHAT?!?!?!

oh well at least I am never BORED---

I need to look into one of them college interns.........

Resting at home trying to get rid of pneumonia for the second time this year
Godspeed on your recovery, flatrock.

life has a funny way of steering things; dont lose her in the turn everyone.
Enjoy the weekend best you can all.

I'm starting a week staycation that is all To-Do List. No major projects just a lot of small tasks and finish up loose ends.
Gonna get the boat ready though; never took the cover off last year as my time was involved with mom's health journey and final days.

It's an older 20ft outboard fishing boat we trailer.

EDIT: Thanks to all who served and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Three day weekend? Ha... I've been on a three day weekend for the last 1245 days. Hopefully, at least another 7305 days lay ahead for me... cuz I really like to enjoy these 3-day weekends... :victoire:

Yo Chris, I'll be with you on Monday. I'm not on call this weekend, but I do start my on call shift at 6 AM Monday morning. My company is closed for the Holiday, leaving me as the sole contact in case of any malfunctions. You've heard all of the commercials on TV and radio for the big sales this weekend? This is a big, important holiday weekend event that I am sure will make my phone ring. Hopefully just simple user error sh!t with no serious issues. So while I'm sitting in the comfort of my home on Monday, I'll be thinking of you high atop a tower looking down at all us flatlanders. I don't get paid overtime, they'll give me a comp day to use whenever I wish.

Goldmember is starting his three-day weekend by drinking a 5.5% ice beer.
I ain't-a-gonna work, just to end up paying more taxes. I'm-a-gonna BBQ every frickin' day!
I may even wear just shorts and boots, or perhaps, Crocs. They look Dutch, yesh?
I've got my tarragon dried and ground, butter chillin' in the fridge, Preparation-H in the rear,
and I'll be off to the market for some lamb soon. It's burgers for the kids and ribeye for Mrs.
Goldmember.

What's wrong with you Goldmember? You're drinking the wrong beer! You should be drinking this Canadian classic. It tastes great and is less filling.

I used to drink Molson Golden as a 15 yr old.

When I became legal drinking age Molson Golden was one of the first beers I drank and it sure was mighty tasty. I would say Carlsberg beer comes close to the taste of Golden. I don't know now if they still brew it but then again it's just been over 37 weeks now since I had a drop of alcohol.

Now the yuck statement has me thinking about foods we all might think are yuck, but others might think are favorite delicacies or even family traditions ( treats) etc.

I think the one that comes to mind for me was the time I ate raw oysters for the first time. Just looking at them, I can easily say yuck and OMG why would anyone ever eat one raw?
But, once at a party my parents took me to, I gave it a shot and slurped one down. Today I rather enjoy them every so often. Who'd have thought it?

I ate raw oysters before at a restaurant in Toronto with my wife a few times when she was alive. They gave me a glass pouring container that looked like white vinegar but was vodka so it would kill the bacteria I guess. After I'd down the oyster I'd fill up the shell again with more vodka and down that just for good measure. Oysters are pretty darn expensive if you ask me!

Black, I have no clue about that drink and germs, but the cost of oysters could also be dependent on geography, like if one lives near waterways where they are caught locally, I suspect the cost is more reasonable. Similar to crabs, lobster etc like in Maine, Alaska, etc.

Back in the 17th Century lads in London who signed on as apprentices were given an undertaking that they would not be forced to eat oysters or salmon more than once a week.

PS, Big Little Buddy. I am sure glad to hear you are staying strong and taking care of your health. Glad for your sobriety that is yielding you daily chances to continue to find new joys and to remain here among friends to encourage you as well.

In response to Don mentioning oysters and salmon, I had a few other dishes I might think of as yuck and both I have never tried and may never do so.

One is Tripe, the other haggus.
Of course in the redneck areas of USA one might also have some dshes known as puddin, Hogmaw, Scrapple and a few other things that many may consider yuck as well.

It feels good being sober but sometimes the hot nice weather that we're having up here tempts me to have a few cold frosties. I resist the temptation though because I don't want to start back from ground zero. You and others have inspired me to keep on the path because if I do good things will happen and they certainly do. Thanks chili for your post...much appreciated.:)
