The much maligned and hated (by some) CHIBSON--- LESS Paul-- is very nice--- Im telling you --its an Epiphone -- epiphone wiring-- epiphone feel epiphone pups-- and (same pups as my Silverburst Les Paul EPI Custom) same SOUND --feel-- etc. (Gibsons gonna offer CHina-Sons soon mark me words)

So been trying to find a "flavor" of humbucker I like to transfer this beast---also I do all I can to edge it MORE and MORE toward a PAGIE looking beast---- I realized I REALLY LIKE my Jackson Dinky's pups---but I couldnt find any-- then SMITTY mentioned HAVING SOME--- and the JIG WAS UP!

After a rousing back and forth barter session of basically..
Me-- "May I have those Sir" ???
Smitty-- YOU DISGUST ME YOU SNIVELING MALODOROUS FLIPPING FREAK of a PREVERT! "sure dude no worries"....or so I assume those where his thoughts-- that and --"I smell Pizza"........

it was on then!!

A few short stressful days later a BOX arrived......full of candy (I cant prove that because I ate it all before the dogs got wind of it!!!)
ANd a nicely packaged set of used JACKSON (made by Belcat) pickups---

As I have been going for a WHOLE "PAGE---talent-less hack(like me) -- VIBE" --I wanted to go covered/uncoverd --- so --- I cued the music -- and FIRED UP THE SOLDERING IRON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks to Drumoid and Hack for keeping me TRYING the soldering game I am getting better!!!!--- I didnt burn the carpet or a cat or anything in the attempt to change out the pups--- SOLDER a cover!!! (wow--P.I.A.) and put the whole thing back together --- WORKING!!!!!!!!!!

so here we go

THIS THING SOUNDS PERFECT---

Covering the neck jackson pup creates a little warmer tone-- the compliment is AWESOME!

ANd when you FLIP the SWITCH to Bridge only ---- its SCORCHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shredtastical FUN!!!

Totally new tonal animal--- DONT sound like no EPIPHONE no more------- DONT sound like no Gibson---
and I can say it has a different full ness than the Dinky --- with the same pupos!

IN CASE anyone gives a crap--- BELCAT seems to be a well established pick up maker--
-- Im SOLD-- I maybe looking to score some other Belcat products for other projects!!!

Belcat Co., Ltd.

IM HAVING A FRIGGIN BLAST

thank you Sir Schmitlap of Schmitlappington!

--this thing RIPS---

I might put JACKSON pups IN a GIBSON these things SOUND much better-- I mean they sound great in the Jackosn --- but in the full Gibbo sized body ---- sustain is days--- literally days--- MUCH more articulate than the Epis which now sound MUDDY as HECK in comparison.

I got a used strat type guitar that had bell cat single coils in it. It had thwack to spare - I really liked them. It was the first I'd ever heard of them at that point.

Do you know which of the pickups shown on the Belcat site they are? Or are they a pickup made specifically for Jackson. Cheers

Im not sure Ivan I am still trying to research---- not much on the web-- perhaps you, Don, Session 5 or Gasket or one of the non 'Mericans can find more info>??

Im about to go ripping pups out of other guitars to see if they are Belcats--- Ive sneaking suspicion they supply for Cort....or Samick perhaps--- Im betting many guitars HAVE belcats and no one knows it

I found a couple references to Samick acoustics using Belcat systems......
And there is quite the selection on Amazon.....

and pedals......
https://www.amazon.com/Belcat-Tremo...id=1527295646&sr=8-78&keywords=belcat+pickups
Yes, I saw that they have acoustic systems, fx pedals & power supplies, amplifiers, pre amps, wireless systems & more. I know that when looking for my Jackson, some had Duncan pickups, distortions, JB's, 59's etc (mine has distortions), while some had "Duncan designed" pickups that simply had Jackson written on them, exactly like the ones you have. Being "Duncan designed", I'm thinking they'd have to be reasonably good. Cheers

Ive recently been very please with pup selections--
the DIMARZZIO I put in the EB-O was AMAZING to say the least-- however it was priced in such a manner it SHOULD be amazing---
but these "low end" belcats are --- QUITE impressive---

THe amps and other stuff I dont see available here--- a couple pedals on AMAZON is all at the moment---maybe Grumpy has seen this brand floating around his area???

Im as impressed with this tonal pairing as I am/was with the USA Made DEAN humbucker I put in the EPiphone SPirit--- which I still say for a USA made pup--- the Dean stuff is hard to beat--- most are under 70.00 each

Whoa, dude.

I’m glad it all worked out for you!

I’m also glad those pickups found their way into a guitar rather than just sitting in one of my parts boxes.

Love the Jackson logo on that guitar! That’s funny!

When I still had those in the guitar and when it was still a current model on the Jackson website, I think the website described them as a “Jackson High Gain Pickup.” I had just assumed that meant Belcat made them for Jackson.

I don’t recall seeing anything about being Duncan-designed. It’s always possible I could have missed that. That would be cool. Unfortunately, those pups have no part numbers on them.

The funny thing is...when we first started talking about these pickups, I dared him to put them in his Chibson and post the results, not realizing that was already his intent.

When he told me that’s what he wanted to do anyway...well...then it became kind of a mutual mission begging to be accomplished!
