Now, the VH has .010's and the Gibson has .009's and you can tell in the video I was hitting the Gibby too hard....maybe .010's would fatten it up???

Seems like the Thro-Bak's really have more articulation than the 498T....Thoughts???
 
Also, in the fade out in the end, I can hear the microphonic amplification of the resonance of the guitar as the last lick lingers and the harmonics and vibrations of the strings ring together.

This rawness I really like. Something to be said about not 100% sterile sound when it comes to R n R.

That is a nice looking Studio. I have a 2014 Studio with the fancy stuff on the 12 fret. Mine has 490 and 490, you have 498s . I think the 2015 has a 490 and a 498 and I don't know what the difference is, I can find no references for them. I have kept my Studio close to stock. I have a brass nut and a roller bridge. I can put it away for weeks and it stays in tune. I changed the tuners to locking. I took every thing off my Standard. It has Bare Knuckle P90s, I like them but I am looking for great humbuckers for it. I'm on to a set of real 1958s but I have no details. I will need to check them out myself. They should not have any high output numbers. The lunatic that is selling them is a goofy bastard.

It's not a bad sounding Studio. The 498T is something like 13kohms.

I think this might be a good guitar with the PCB placed with a harness...thoughts, Kevin???
 
I bid on a set of custom made pickups on eBay. I think I know the builder, a opium freak from the lower east side of Manhattan and is filthy rich. No one bid but me. I bid .69 cents, so no big deal if I am wrong or the local kid did good. If they check out kosher I'll drop those bastards in my Standard . I played it tonight and the P90s will find a new home. That is what I put the wrong pick ups in.IMG_7337.JPG
