In another post I got bitten by (buy) the semi-hollow body thread and decided to pull the trigger on this wine red Epiphone ES-339 Pro P90. I've been taking photography lessons at the Kevin Paul Institute of the Dead.

Below is Thor, one of my furry family. He turned around just as I took the shot. I'll take some better pictures once I've graduated my photo lessons.

I'm trying to resist the urge to pull out the tools and replace the pots, reverse the wiring on one of the pups so that the center (both) position on the selector switch cancels the P90 hum. Aside from ordering parts, I have a few other projects I need to button up before I take another perfectly good guitar apart just to watch the tone juice bleed. I've only played this through the Fender Mustang amp so far, but I plan on playing it through a tube amp and see what she gots.

Looks great Grant! And I see the Kevin Paul photography style in spades!

I know you are on call this week and I'm in San Diego all next week...but we have to plan a session!

I still have the Silkyn and the VOX in the shop + my 100 watt Katana Head and a 4x12 with Celestion Vintage 30's in it!

As for tearing the guitar apart...you just have to...it the rules...I didn't make em'...but rules is rules...

I like the size but still we're getting to know each other. I'm on call this week, Chris is outta town next week and I'm outta town, outta state, outta the country and off of this contenent the week after. So no session for us in the immediate future. See ya next month!

Man, have you ever gutted and rewired a semi? It is an abject nightmare. Not worth the trouble IMO, especially for minimal gain.

I read the Col's post on ETSG a couple years back and again over the weekend. Yeah, it does look like PITA.

Great score on that guitar! I bet you are going to love them P-90 pick ups. They are very popular these days inspired by Pete Townshend...The Who Live At Leeds with his P-90 equipped Gibson SG geetar.:dood:

I have an LP style guitar with P-90s, Burla has a P-94 in the neck, now this is my 3rd guitar with P-90 tone.
