Who's my favorite guitar player kind of varies with the mood, but there are some I always return to.
-Edward Van Halen. Definitely a shredder, but he's got a bluesy feel. One of the absolute greats in my book.
-Peter Green. Pure class. Pure tone. Never overplaying. And a great singer too.
-B. B. King. Pure class. Pure tone. Never overplaying. And a great singer too. Yeah, I know, I said the same about Peter green. But it's true.
-Eric Clapton. With Mayall and Cream he revolutionized rock guitar. He does not get enough credit for being a true original.
-Freddie King. Pure plus power.
-Duane Allman. A true slide innovator. Great tone and feel. A wonderful blues guitarist.
-Derek Trucks. Plays things with a slide that is just not humanly possible. Impeccable precision.
-J. Geils. Really an underrated guitarist. Great style and tone. He was the one that really taught me to strive for playing tag one right not instead of a hundred ok ones.
