Another Cancer Thread

Sorry to hear about this Smitty. For some reason this is a bad year for deaths all around. My condolences.

Thanks again, all.

So, yeah...today has been pretty exhausting. We made it to the hospital and visited my wife's sister. Frankly, she looks awful. The allergic reaction to the chemo took a real toll on her. She is very swollen with severe rashes on her body, and she is completely unresponsive with minimal brain activity.

In less than one week, after a single chemo treatment, she went from alive and kicking with the hopes that the chemo would help her, to being practically dead. Apparently, she did have cardiac arrest a couple of days ago and it took them nearly fifteen minutes to get her heart going again.

The family's instructions are not to do that again. If her heart fails again, let her go. Right now, we're just waiting for a couple more family members to get here.

Sad news. Spend as much time as you can with your family. When my mother died last year, what really kept the pain tolerable was the time my family got to spend together. It brought a closure of sorts to the situation. Hang in there.

Well, it’s all over.

My wife’s sister died within about 20 minutes of the ventilation being pulled.

My wife and the rest of the siblings are doing pretty well. As would be expected, the children (all adults, fortunately) are taking it harder.

The family is going to try to have some sort of a Thanksgiving get-together tomorrow.

Hey smitty... Sorry to hear the bad news about your sister-in-law. Totally understand the difference in emotions when dealing with somebody who suddenly died as oppose to waiting for a terminally ill person to pass away. Strength to you and your family.

Cancer really does suck. Quite often there will be encouraging news on understanding how different cancers work, or treating them, or preventing them. I thought by now there would have been a cure for all types of cancers. Is it ever going to happen?

Dr. Otto Warburg published his findings on cancer cells in the 1930's. He found they could not survive in an alkaline environment. Dr. Warburg has made it clear that the root cause of cancer is oxygen deficiency, which creates an acidic state in the human body. Dr. Warburg also discovered that cancer cells are anaerobic (do not breathe oxygen) and cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen, as found in an alkaline state.

I am afraid that sick people are simply too valuable to the medical industry to cure the disease....?????

I wish our lives meant more than profits....

My sincere condolences to You and Your family. And all the best for the forthcoming time.

I suppose one bright spot in all of this is that I discovered one of my nephews, at whose house we ate last night and who is only two years younger than me, has two Les Pauls and two Marshall amplifiers.

Ya’ll can fill in the rest from there!

Thanks to everybody, for your encouraging posts.

Believe it or not, I mostly read your posts in hospital waiting rooms, while awaiting doctors' updates.

My wife's sister died on Thanksgiving Day, 2017. I was mostly a roadie...if So-and-so had to get here or there...I'd do it. But, my wife literally watched her sister take her last breath and die.

I was glad to be the chauffeur, if that is what everyone needed. I was just another brick in the wall....so to speak.

I'm back home, now. Everyone is doing fine.

Ya'll are great!

SOmetimes Smitty the "supporting cast" is the most important part of the show--- without it all crumbles---

You were there-- to support and assist--- and that is a noble deed in those very emotional difficult times.

Well done and good on you-- and prayers and peace for the family and the deceased

And that might be the best role to chose. I took that role when my father in law died, and i even had it when my father died (because no one else was able... it was tough anyway). One must be the brick in the wall, and maybe being that might make the moment easier.

I'm just fasinated on an article I read that marijuana can't cause lung cancer but it can help prevent it. They said that tobacco smokers who also smoked marijuana were at slightly lower risk of getting lung cancer than tobacco-only smokers. It may be surprising to some but other lung cancer patients use cannabis products for support. I searched some kind of strain from XXXX EDITED BY STAFF XXXX and search its medical properties. It may sound to good to be truth but i wanted to hear your thoughts about it guys. So whats you idea about this one? Have you tried cannabis to help you from any medical conditions you have?
