Watchtower:

I've had that performance on a bootleg cd for years. I have an extensive collection of bootleg Jimi cds. He's my sentimental favorite. Back when I was a teacher, I spent a chunk of a summer converting them to mp3s. I now have them on one dvd. I got started in bootlegs by a local college radio station. They played bootleg albums every Thanksgiving. I started with albums and quickly moved to cds. It was a great hobby to help occupy my time.

That is incredible! What is the story behind the signing? Was it at that show?

No, it was a little basement cafe in central London. I was in there with my girlfriend when he wandered in for a coffee. The record was lying on the table and he asked what we had bought. He was as embarrassed as hell when he found out what it was, but he signed it and stayed to chat while he had his coffee. Such a nice bloke.

I have a copy of Watch Tower. The crazy religious freaks left it on my coffee table. They wanted my soul! I wanted some one to hang with. I cut them loose after only 19 hours because they just wouldn't stop screaming. Jimi would never have signed this news paper or magazine. I don't get the connection. I should have ask those two weirdos before things got out of hand.

That is an amazing story. So what did you talk about?

Music, what else? A bit about Bach and then the English Blues scene. He wanted to know if I had been to see Big Bill Broonzy on his tours, but no, I had been too young for that. But BB King was a London regular about then so we talked about him for a while.

I always wondered if Mr Jimmi was a nice guy. Now I know and did he like his soda cherry red?

Nice. Did he look pretty ill?
I never saw him. You would need to ask Mick or DonP. I bet in a Lilly white town like London all the brothers look a tad under the weather. You can't go by me because the last time I had a work tip to London the German Mod at MLP said I wasn't there because he picked up the university IP number and place me some place it Texas. I don't remember Texas but who really does?

I cant stop laughing....

Were they screaming like Beatles fan schoolgirls while you played for them, or in more of a Silence of the Lambs kind of way?
Or maybe like Lennon at the end of Cold Turkey?
