Does anyone know where I can get a wide-bevelled batwing SG pickguard for two P90s?

If this one is akin to your requirements then you can have it.

I was gonna turn either my SG faded or future tribute into P90s, but sold them both...

Thanks for the offer! It is close, but I'm looking for a wide-bevelled specimen, preferably 5-ply. I think I might have found a solution at www.pickguardplanet.com, but they haven't answered my email regarding prices yet.

I'm also thinking of turning my Faded Special into a P90 guitar. I have a set of Lindy Fralin P90s lying about. Have had them for ages, and the plan was to put them into the Epiphone '61 Special reissue I have, but I have never gotten around to it. Now I'm considering selling the Epi since it never really gets much use. I dig my Les Paul Junior and would like a guitar with a P90 in the neck as well, and I figured it would be cheaper and converting the SG into one than buying yet another guitar. The Special would get more playtime then as well. I have an Epi Dot with Seymour Duncan Phat Cats, but I'm considering selling that one as well.

I don't think the humbucker P90s really get the P90 sound (I had some P90 humbuckers in an Epi SG), so converting the faded could be good. I've seen a couple for sale with the P90 conversion, and I reckon they look very good with the batwing.

While I like the Phat Cars, they are not really what I'm looking for.

By the way, excuse my ignorance, but how are the P90s fastened in the guitar when there are no screw holes in the pickguard? Are they screwed straight into the wood in the pickup cavity? I've never actually looked inside the Epi Special to figure it out...

I dunno----- I just like them

Yeah, there are various options, but the two common ones seem to be: buying a bracket that fits on the P90s and screws through the pickguard; P90s straight into the wood. The Anderson stacked P90 has centre screws, so I would have had to make a bracket for it, and I was too lazy...

Where can I get mounting brackets for regular soapbars, that will make them fit a batwing with mounting holes like in the Classic?

Gibson actually used a metal bracket that screwed into the soapbar pickup cavity on those SG Clssics like Chillis.Good luck finding those brackets though.

The SG Classic Soapbars did not screw into the wood like alot of the guitars with soapbars.

Yeah, I searched for some, but couldn't find any - was thinking that I'd have to make some or get a local metal working guy to make some, so just decided to go into the wood instead.

Maybe swapping or adding a dogear baseplate to the soapbox could work? Or just add some kind of home made bracket. I'm sure I could manage to drill a couple of holes in something and make it work...

You're the one that GAS me up towards Creamtone and their wide beveled pickguard creations. Since the stock pickguard on my 50th Anniversary PT SG's angel wing with 2 P90's is very unique, Creamtone built a custom one-off for mine. So, why not contact Creamtone again?

That is a good idea. You pay through the nose for the Creamtone stuff, but their goods are very nice.

So Gahr if you go on ebay you put the TV Jones filtertrons and it will lead you to there English mount brackets for the filtertrons. I put a Gretsch Filtertron in one of my JRs but just screwed it into the wood for they mount just like a soapbar that screws into the wood. You might incorperate this TV Jones Filtertron English mount for ur soap bars.
