Yes it does sound that way...but no this actually is real on the singing side. this guy added the piano to make her vocal not sound so bad. I love his quick jump up and back one half step on the "Free.....ii..eeeeeee"
She started on the wrong key and was trying to find her place all the way through. Clearly too high for her register vocal range.
This song is hard for most people as it goes over a huge range so it is up to the singer to start at the right note in order to get the "Free" solid and hold.
