Looking for a guitar stand...

Hey…I did see these from K&M, but $$$

Pretty simple though…wonder if they’re “nitro safe”?….easy fix though.

I have a couple and they're alright, but a large bodied/neck heavy guitar can render them less stable. A bass guitar is a challenge for them. Regular non-pointy electrics are OK.

The ones you're looking for, Steve, seem to be the FS100E model.

I'm seeing some ads (some sold) on Reverb, eBay and co. Why not just ask your local GC if they can stock them?

I have a variation of the K&M one that was posted earlier-
K&M 17540 Transluzent

It is very strudy and hard to knock over. An added bonus is that the angle can be adjusted, so that even guitars with weird shapes can fit in.
I also can assure that at least the translucent version is 100% nitro safe. My Custom Shop LP with Aniline Dye back is resting on that stand for 8 years now and the only thing that has happened, is that the stand has some faint red spots. There are absolutely no visible marks on the guitar itself.

I'm looking for a guitar stand like the 2 I have, but I can't find one. I've had these forever and now I need a 3rd. One is a Fretrest, the other is a Dixon. Apparently neither one makes these any more, they make a version with bigger hooks that hold an electric or an acoustic, but I don't want that, I want one like this that the hooks are only for an electric guitar. Anyone know where I can get one like this?

Lots on Amazon. Get a floor rack or hanging hooks instead.

Something about those neck "hangers" just seems like they would be easy to knock over. I don't know, it just looks like that to me. And those legs/feet look like they take up a lot of real estate.
Well, the "legs/feet look like they take up a lot of real estate" is what makes them stable.
I like the neck hangers with no bottom support because I knocked a cheap LP copy of a bottom rest stand a long time ago.
Guitar fell straight forward, landed flat on the fretboard, and snapped the head clean off at the nut.
Wasn't worth fixing and I binned the guitar, and that stand.

KnM make good solid stands.

So does Hercules. Mine is a triple Hercules rack style but only for stage use.
I have the odd compact foldable one for rehersals for a single git.

Thanks for all the help guys! I ordered the Hercules. It looks to be the most stable "looking" to me, the back rest lands at about the same place and a guitar seems to sit at about the same angle as the Proline like I have now. I got it from Amazon for 50 bucks, but free shipping and I was able to add it to an order I already have coming Monday. This one is for my Tele.

Please do share your opinion on it…I’d be interested to hear/read about it. I’m more comfortable with Hercules and nitro…I have a rack, triple stand, and single neck hanger, and none have done any damage…oldest is like 12-15 years(the triple tree, neck hanger).

I will do that. :yesway:

I like it, it's probably just as sturdy as the tripod type I have. I think it'll work just fine. :yesway:

Edit: just noticed that it holds the guitar up a little higher off the floor than my other ones do. I doub't anyone noticed but if you look at the pic in my OP you can see where I put some wood shims under the hooks where they hinge to make them sit higher because the strap buttons on my LPs were touching the floor before I did that, drove me crazy. I won't have to do something like that with this stand.
