Hello, TR!

(The purpose of this thread is to archive remedies for those suffering from this aforementioned ailment in the future.)

Goldmember frequently suffers from SSYH Syndrome, whereby a song that he may like (or love!) gets stuck in his brain, causing frustration and aggravation as it plays over and over and over and over.... Please share with us your effective and painless methods of "removing" such a song. I have yet to find a cure: I have tried "cold turkey" from all of that artist's music for a week; listening to another favorite song repeatedly; listening to the worst of '70s love songs repeatedly, listening to Wham!, and yes, even sleep/self medication. None of these have worked. Help!

This happens to me if its a great song i love or even catchy tune, like Tommy Roes Dizzy ,yes you read that right. Well if im at work the song is just stuck in my head till i get home then usually Google the chords to said song stuck in ones head and play it till im sick of it.Now i didnt say i play it good for i improvise alot but ya play it till your sick of it.

A few months ago, I spent a week "rediscovering" Asia. I dug them back in the day. The result: I had Heat of the Moment and Only Time will Tell playing on infinite repeat in my mind. I'd even wake up with either of those tunes already playing! Yes, I admit that I like the songs, with the exception of Howe's aimless solo at the end of Heat.

Now, the same thing is happening with Ratt's I Want a Woman. I like the song, but enough is enough! :BH:

Matter of fact i went and watched that video, its been awhile since i heard the song.Did bands really dress like that???? Thank God for the so called Grunge movement in my neck of the woods.Which was really no movement, those guys were just poor musicians wearing thrift store flanel and clothes and using pawn shop Fenders.Hell i still dress like that in a way. Was,is just how most dress in the NW

There is no treatment and there is no cure.
Once one gets in there it goes 'round & 'round
until it gets tired and just goes away on it's own.
Yesh, Tony. Thanks. That has been my suspicion. Perhaps, we must bite the bullet.

My wife likes the Hallmark Channel, and I hear Walking on Sunshine (Katrina and the frickin' Waves) every 15 frickin' minutes blasting from the frickin' living room. You know how the volume somehow magically increases during commercials? It has yet to get "stuck," but it's just a matter of time...

...'round & 'round...

Round and round?

You mean like this?

Hey, Goldmember....

Is this song getting stuck in your head now?

Here is what you must do when a song is stuck in your head. Don't fight it. Learn it on guitar.

This gets stuck in my head: mid 1970s, Schoolhouse Rock, educational cartoons. My kids used it for school. I bought the dvd with all, I haven't watched it in 5 years.

The Preamble...

Kill me please!!
