AC/DC lost Bon Scott in 1980, hired Brian Johnson that same year, released "Back In Black" and sold 50 million albums on that release alone. That fact alone shows the resilience of the band and the adoration of the fans. They could've easily turned their backs on them but they not only supported them? They worshipped them even more for toughing it out. Replacing a singer successfully is extremely difficult

I was stretching out a thought about 2 bands that weren't the same after a key member either died or left for health reasons. My judgement was just too narrow.
 
Another very tough choice.
Had to go with The Who. From the start of my guitar journey, I’ve emulated Pete.
 
I truly can’t choose between these two bands.

Both have “rocked my face off” or whatever the criteria was, both have amazing individual members that are touchstones for specific styles and sounds/tones.

For creativity and artistic excellence—between the Rock Operas and deeper subject matter injected throughout their catalogue, the “Brain Vote” would be the Who.

But for just pure joy and rockin’ it’s AC/DC all the way.

So I came up with a novel idea:

Which band’s music would I rather play, if I were covering their music?

In that case, it’s have to be AC/DC by a hair…I’ve played/sang/jammed a few songs by both, but dangit the boys from Down Under were a blast to play and just slam out some great tunes—and the audience always responds with smiles, head banging and rock-n-roll fingers up. :jammer:

Sure, I was just curious what changed your mind. But, I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it. This is supposed to be for fun, so it's no big deal. I was just wondering.
 
@smitty I didn't change my mind, I just didn't have any better idea on how to resolve.
Obviously a tie doesn't really work in this format, I would have preferred to extend the
vote for 24 hs, but my phone/internet glitched for whatever reason when I logged in to extend the
poll deadline and I narrowly missed my window to do so. I had even set an alarm on my
device to check into the vote at the last minute. Perhaps it was fate stepping in
 
OH crap! after all that I just checked the vote to see that the poll didn't close for some reason?
perhaps I was able to change it in time while it was tied? I dunno.

Anyway, as it stands right now The Who sits a single vote ahead of AC/DC
to be fair to the bands, and to the voting public I have allowed this vote to
remain open for another 24 hours.
