That was fresh outta the box....now sporting a pearloid PG and 5 strings lol

I fooking LOVE open G --- great way to "reinvigorate and create" new and groovy tunes.
Cool, I like that & yes, open G is a great way to re invigorate & create, can see why Keef likes it so much. Chilli, I do have reasonably large hands & don't mind chunky necks, might have to keep an eye out for a classic vibe, thanks for the tip, though a Squier Bullet would be good too. Oh, & apology's for the hijack guys. Cheers

it's ether is a dud or lackluster player.

Gibson doesnt make those----Biddlin said so himselfs----especially back in the 60's...... perhaps your computer speakers are a tad off ;)

Gotta be a fake. ---well crafted fake but a fake

I'll pay $1400 for the one in 67's video. Might help sales if Greg Koch demo'd it.

CME's videos like this one don't do these guitars justice.

WOW @ Greg Koch's tone in the Bridge Pickup on the 12 string neck @ 2:32+

Guitar prices is a funny issue.

Peter Green parctically gave his burst away to Gary Moore (a worthy recipient, I might add!). Kirk Hammett reportedly payed around $2 million for it when he bought it a couple of years ago. They all made the guitar sound great. If I could pick one single guitar in the whole world I would love to own, it would probably be Greeny. But it would still just sound like me if I were playing it.

On the other hand you have guys like Hound Dog Taylor, who really couldn't play for poop, but still made a crappy cheap-ass Japanese piece of poop guitar sound AWESOME.

A guitar is worth exactly the amount of money anyone is willing to pay for it at any given time, but the most important part of a guitar will always be the person playing it.

Gahr your prolly right, theres no way i could do any of those guitars justice.Even the cheap ones lol.

Id like to know what normal person would pay that .
In a nutshell: A very rich, normal person!

I am certainly not one of those types of persons. Not rich... not normal! There are a lot of people in this world that are insanely rich. They will rationalize different. Their sense of logic will be different. Collectability and prestige is a priority now. 200K or 2 million is nothing to these type of people.

I had a '58 Stratocaster.
I bought it used for $400.00.
I played it in a band for a couple of years.
I had my fun with it and then I sold it.
I made a 25% profit on the sale.
It's all about percentages.

I sold my Epiphone Wilshire to Johnny Winter for $125.00.
I wonder what it will bring when the estate sale is done...

Back on topic it may be real but it's ether is a dud or lackluster player.

The demo was one tone with one style of playing. Great early Allman Bros tone. Clean with a little hair.

Of course there are many other tones and styles that could have been produced, but oh well. The guitar will still sell.

Shall we do an over-under on sale time. I say we come back in 6 months and it is either still there or de-listed, but not sold. We could double check on the Chicago Music Exchange site.

The little bit of grit he has going just doesn't sound natural to me. There's no sparkle to the tone and the breakup sounds really artificial. I would have preferred to hear it completely clean to that sterile sound, or use an amp that you can crank up to get some actual power tube distortion. Maybe the Twin wasn't the best choice to show off that guitar in that setting.

I agree, Gball. I don't think the demonstrators CME has put forth that I have seen do the guitars justice.

I'm gonna say it was the player, not the guitar.
Same song done by someone who can actually play:
