What Was The Very First Song, You Could Play On Your Guitar, All The Way Through

Sunshine by Johnny-Frickin' Dee, baby. Rockin' OUT!

Probably Dee by Randolph Rhoads.
Wow! That's a very interesting and difficult first piece! Well done!

Mine was, as per the first Riffmaster, Calling Dr. Love from KISS Rock n Roll Over. We're talking chords here no notey parts at all. 5ook like 4 days after school but to be fair to 15 year old me, I knew ZERO guitar before that, I learned the song as I learned chords and fingering etc.

I always tinkered with songs and never had the patience to play through them all ..like to a radio or something like a lot of people did. Dee was after a few years in and really the only one I think I learned and played all the way though at that time. Thanks 'thro!

My first real guitar was an acoustic 12 string. I’ve mentioned it before…. But my first songs with it was probably sitting around a camp fire at church camp as a camp counselor. And most likely and not kidding when I say the first song I learned to play all the way thru from memory was probably Kum Ba Yah. And there were a few others. But memory dims after 50+ years.

There were others I could play with music in front of me. Mostly folk type songs. Yes. Some John Denver. Gordon Lightfoot. Bob Dylan. But late 60 to early 70s acoustic music.

If we're talking songs that we memorized, not simply playing from a chord chart, mine was Bourree, by Bach. However, that was a long time ago. Today, I'd pretty much have to learn it all over again. The funny thing is that I first played in publicly in church on my Gibson SG, since I didn't have an acoustic guitar and that was before the internet told me what kind of guitars should be used for certain songs.
