What's your top 5 Holiday movies that you typically, or have to, watch during the Holidays?

My Top 5:
The Ref
Christmas Vacation
Die Hard
Scrooged
It's a Wonderful Life

We have a unofficial rule that we don't watch some of the movies until Christmas Eve. That goes for It's a Wonderful Life and White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny F'n Kay. Christmas Vacation is a movie we watch the day after Thanksgiving to kick off the season. We watch that movie probably five or six times over the next few weeks.

Probably my LEAST favorite genre of films are holiday movies but, I'm not a Grinch or Scrooge either! So there are a few I enjoy .

For full length movies in order
#1 It's a Wonderful Life
#2 A Christmas Carol (1981,George C Scott)
#3 White Christmas
#4 A Christmas Story
#5 National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

I feel I couldn't count these as they are specials or shorts but definitely mandatory viewing and so I'm counting them separately:
#1 A Charlie Brown Christmas
#2 Dr. Seuss's How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)
#3 Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas
#4 A Muppet Family Christmas
#5 Simpson's Roasting On An Open Fire ( the first episode of The Simpsons ever and its a classic)

If we’re gonna delve into the obligatory “Christmas episodes” realm….
Blackadder Christmas special
Trailer Park Boys Christmas
The Tick Loves Santa
Letterkenny Christmas episode
There are others, but I do make a point of enjoying those, at some point, before Christmas passes bye.

Lol I do love the Trailer Park Boys and Letterkenny specials! Just watched the Letterkenny one last week

I like A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim, and Christmas Story is always good fun. Especially the scene at the Chinese Restaurant.

Other than those two, I'm not really a big tv or Xmas movie fan.
The Alastair Sim version is pretty good too. I think that one is sometimes listed as Scrooge as well? That and the George C Scott one are the only two I'd probably watch. Like you, Christmas movies aren't my top tier category, even in holidays. More of a Halloween person if I had to pick a holiday lol

I think the Alastair Sim version has the best Ghost of Xmess Yet to Come, and it’s in black and white.

True! It kinda reminds me of The Seventh Seal depiction of death, especially with his human hands and movements, just with his face obscured. I like the Ghosts better in the Alastair Sim version but the George C Scott version has my favorite depiction of Jacob Marley and the children of Ignorance and Want. Both groups were creepy, especially by a made for TV movie standard

I never watched TV my first two wives wouldn't stand for it after divorce had a live in girl friend that got cable TV
I would rather be playing with the band or out on my boat or walking my dogs in my free time.
I did watch Godzilla Minus One the last few days never have watched a Christmas movie.

I think that's cool as hell. Sometimes I feel that TV has become a drug I can't shake. Eating my life one episode at a time. :D
