Time change

Here we go again...ugh! I set my wall clock back yesterday so I could start to get used to it before it actually happens, but it still screws me up. Today has been really weird, and long, but I should be pretty much on track tomorrow. I always do that, set my clock back on friday before the change, it makes it a little easier, but not much. I hate the time change, I wish they would just pick one and leave it there year round.

It really is a stupid and unnecessary concept anymore. Just leave the clocks in the daylight saving mode ( i.e longer daylight) and ditch the savings ends mode which will officially happen in about 27 minutes as i type this lol ( 2:00AM EST). All this accomplishes now is I go to work in the morning in total darkness and I come home from work in total darkness. If I wanted to live my days like a vampire, I'd more to friggin Barrow, Alaska and just take the 67 Days of Night

I guess for me it doesn’t really matter. It’s the same number of hours of daylight regardless. While I was working I had a 50-60 minute commute each way. At some point…. I ‘d be leaving to work in the dark and driving home in the dark. And even if daylight savings time was made permanent. Same story. Add in. Regardless if I leave work and it’s daylight. By end of December it’s dark when I get home. By the time I get the grill fired up, whether daylight savings time or standard. I’m grilling in the dark.

Also. Since I drove east to work and of course west to go home. I almost preferred driving in the dark. There’s a week to 10 day period in both spring and fall where the sun is so low in the sky you cannot see the car in front of you from the glare. Some days, you can barely see the road.

Most of my clocks reset all by them selves. However I agree that we should never have to spring forward and fall back. Come to think of it, all months should have the same amount of days, 28 just like our moon's cycle. Indigenous people of the USA used to count the month at the new moon.

I learned this lesson when living in Philly and driving to work in NJ; I was 19 at the time. From that point forward I made sure I always lived east of where I worked.

In retirement land we don’t even care what day it is ! :dood:
I dont even know what day it is lol . 1 long 12 year day so far since starting this madness.

I do know Saturdays tho, off the hook busy no matter what. In a way i sorta morphed out of regular life, found out how to deal over the years but there will be some sort of trauma when i retire. Might have to sit somewhere without a phone ringing beeping & vibrating all day long. Not complaining, blessed but its not normal to never technically have off,

Put me in the time change is ridiculous camp. I thought I was doing good up by nine on Sunday. Nope. Not nine.
Yep. Went to bed at 10 last night. Set the clock.... dang it.... now its 9. I did not get up. Wasted time till the clock said 10 again and turned out the light. I may have played solitaire on the phone after trolling TTR for a bit.

We are in the far minority. We haven't changed clocks for decades.
I love it.
