Had to share

I shared before how I helped outfit this little teenager girl band. (My bands bassist has her own band)
Well they asked me if I could record their first song for them!
Today I went over to their garage and managed to capture a song for them.
They had to do it all together, so that really limited the overall sound quality...
Nonetheless, I think they killed it.
I am so stinking proud of them.
I had to share.

They were super nervous and so excited...it took a while for them relax and feel comfortable with the whole process. I tried to keep their excitement energy and enjoyment of recording their first song my top priority. I wanted them to make memories and have fun with it.

I think it turned out really well...
I remember my first song recorded...it wasn't this good for sure ha ha ha.

Anyhow, Here is their first song!

I just had to share, I'm as excited as they are!

They really did a great job. Its heavy enough and great groove but not too heavy. I think it will appeal to most age groups that like rock Headache.Im 65 and i like it. Great job girls and you to Headache good on ya for puttin in the effort.poop i wish i had a band that good hahhhahaaha

Well my band has a show Oct 14.
And the opening act cancelled a couple days ago...we've been scrambling to find another one.... but metal bands don't really exist here in our small towns..... rock bands are a few here and there...

Anyway! We talked the owner of the bar/venue into letting the girls open for us! So they are going to get to do their first show in less than 10 days!

Then we will play our set and that will be the night.

I'm almost as excited for them as I am for my own band ha ha ha. Hopefully we get some decent footage.

Well!
I went over there again today to record another song for them.
But instead they wanted to re-record funhouse.
They wanted to learn how to do it "the right way"... or at least a better way.
So 2 hours later we had the tracks down again
And 4 hours of editing here at home... I present to you FUNHOUSE version 2.0.

They did have some timing issues, as could be expected. That took me a lot of time editing and cutting and nudging the mix.... although it's not perfect by any means...
They absolutely love it! and that's what really matters.....

Listening as I watch Killer Klowns From Outer Space….

It sounds good, and I could tell better the second time. What an honor for all of you to be able to work together. They are uncommonly good. I mean that's "real" top shelf songwriting they do. I really don't even remember a start-up band in years that can do that.
