To build a 50Watt Hiwatt

I saw Be Bop Deluxe in the 70's and if I remember correctly he had 2 Highwatt amps . Not sure how distorted they got but he never was high gain player. He did have a sweet lead tone.

He normally had played Carlsbro amps and they are from what I hear are very loud and Fender like.

I saw Be Bop Deluxe open for Blue Ӧyster Cult in '78. They were amazing. I love the Axe Victim, Sunburst Finish, and Live in the Air Age albums.

I felt the chassis was a bit too tight and was afraid of crosstalk.

I also think you really needed some of these to get it to sound right.

I liked everything Bill did, he is a great talented writer , guitarist and vocalist.
I think he was ahead of his time.
some of things he played were amazing.I saw them with Golden Earing. We actually went to see Be Bop Deluxe.

Those transformers are huge, if they are even available.

Turretboard is cleaned off, restaked, and the new build is started. A single Fender channel amp. Yeah, Leo didn't use mustard caps, but my build...my rules....the amp is for me. DirtySteve should know which one this is going to be.

I called Steve's the Majestic. A single channel version of the Fender Pro or Super. As far as inside the chassis of either of those AB763 designs, on the Normal channel there is not a lot of difference other than the B+ rail. The Pro has 440V on the plates while the Super has 460V on the plates. The PI tail resistor on the Pro is 47R while the tail resistor on the Super is 100R. Of course the B+ on the preamp is 20 volts more on the Super

Oh ok, I‘ve been thinking all along it was based on a Princeton. I really don’t know anything about fender amps, I just know the Majestic is an awesome amp.
