First show evarr

very cool, sounds great and looks like you had a blast :dood:
Thanks man, it was fun.

Need to work on stage presence. I tried not to just stand there staring at my boots but it seems that I should probably be more animated yet, especially given the type of music we play lol

That's exactly why I asked her to record it though. It was with the intention of later analyzing it to see what we could improve on, much the same way a football team will watch their own games afterwards to glean whatever learning that they can from it.

AT least you got out there, I have not played live in so long I cant remember if I had any stage presence or not. :ROFLMAO:

Frankly, some of the bands weren't very good, but they were clearly having fun, and they seemed very comfortable being up there, and it made all the difference in the world, I think.

I've often gone to shows and thought to myself that quite often, these performers are just as much actors up there as they are musicians. Characters, personas, it's theatre. They're just playing a part.

It certainly didn't hurt my feelings any to hear a looonng string of sour notes and bad timing coming from a couple of the bands before us....

For one, it was reassuring to me, because I was confident that we could do better, and that even if we didn't do better, it was unlikely that we'd be under a sudden barrage of airborne barstools and such

Watching on the projector in the studio now, a couple of powered cabs for audio(my usual sports/movie rig)…

The screen is around 4 feet tall…the picture is still only around 30 inches wide…. Sounds pretty darned good for a phone video! :dood:
SERIOUSLY!!!!
SERIOUSLY!!!!!??? <—(Say this one an octave higher than the first seriously)
Where was my Super Bowl party invite?!?
Sheesh! I thought we were all tight here.

Congrats on the first show.
Funny story back in 2017 I found a band to join but I made the big move after a few rehearsals.

A friend I used to work with and jam at his house around that time he played guitar but got a drum set. He had Rickebaker and Jazz bass and 5 gibson Guitars as well as full stack 2203.

After I left he got the bug, ended up joining a country band playing drums.
We used to play Megadeth and Metallica. Lol

That seems to be somewhat common. Even the two guys we got, have been in, and still are, in multiple projects, and they both play everything. They're each better at certain instruments than others, of course, but the fact that they've been willing and able to play whatever was needed at the time has allowed them to play out quite a lot with different groups, and also created a network of like-minded people around our general region that I never had a clue about until a couple years ago. And most of them, too, are willing to play whatever they have to, so long as it means they get to play live.

Anyway, I think it's cool that they've kinda taken us under their wing, introduced us to some people, totally accepted and embraced us as fellow local musicians, and are trying to help us achieve some goals, such as pushing us into getting out there and playing our music. Being willing to come over most every weekend for over a year to learn our material and grind on it with us, and get us gigs and play it with us. That's pretty cool of them.

Spring's coming soon. I should probably have them over and feed them ribs and beers and stuff lol
