The new ones yes. The old 40C was the 70/80 generally considered pretty harsh.

Gotcha, Well, you would likely remember your Tubes you used, no?
And did you BLOW up any of the 70 watt V speakers, or just the other types you swapped in?

Yup, doesn't make sense to me either, but in the specs, that is what it says. A 50 watt amp and a 30 watt Speaker. WTF

Pretty sure Liveevil nailed it that the newer ones have the V where the older ones had the 70/80's
I swapped out for a Creamback.
I used Genelex Gold Lion KT77/EL84
I don't think i ever killed a 70/80. I donated all my old 70/80's to @Mitch Pearrow SJMP
The Creambacks and Greenbacks would actually stop transmitting sound and i saw both cone/voice coil separations, ruptured voice coil bellows and surround failures.
The donation was a trade for the dirt bike gear.
I still need one more to fill a cab.
But I am also not searching one out .because of the lack of steady employment right now.
I donated a lot of surplus gear to a couple of local music academies and several up-and-coming musicians.
I have a few more items that are going to the new High Desert academy.

Bdon, I don't know why you are laughing. Mitch is the older half clone of me. He is an expert framer and my first training in carpentry was framing. We have at least 2 garages, pole buildings to build here in Maryland, and then it is on to, enclosed porches, roofing, siding, gutters, windows, demo, plumbing, electric, hvac,bath, kitchen, flooring...

Just a wee last night. Most of the street and driveway snow will melt away today.
You are asking him to leave his garage behind….
@Don O - Sunday afternoon, we headed up into Big Bear from Lucerne Valley and drove into a blinding snowstorm.
We were the last car allowed through the checkpoint and the CHP didn’t notice we were not chained (i don't have any) and we proceeded up the hill - to the 9,000 ft/asl summit - while other vehicles - including 4x4 trucks with chains - slid into the guardrails and off into the snowbanks.
Here's the snowplow and pilot car clearing the opposite lanes in the closed area.
I was running with TRAC control engaged and used very light throttle application and gentle steering input to maintain control.
Several tow trucks became immobilized by the ice, even with chains affixed.
At one point, the blowing snow drifts were so intense that we could no longer see the road.
We made it down the hill, and the snow turned to sleet at Seven Oaks, Ca., about 6pm.
