What are the/your 3 most important pedals?

Kind of a poll here for general discussion but also using it as recommendations for myself; what are the 3 most important/must have pedals or at least, what are YOUR 3 most important/must have pedals?

Not exactly searching for specific brands or models but hey, throw them in there if you want! Mostly, I'm kinda inquiring on what is considered a necessity? In the past, I used zero pedals: straight into the amp. But then I went way over the cliff and got big into processors using tons of effects in the signal chain.

Now, I've stripped it all down to just two: an Overdrive/Distortion and a Stereo Chorus. Ironically, this didn't change my sound hardly at because to me, I still sound the same which is a great thing. It just simplified stuff really. But the question is: is there something else I should toss in that's a must have or just leave well enough alone?

The way I play…..which is pretty clean compared to a lot of you here. Pedals I wouldn’t want to be without is a chorus and delay. Other than my Boss Tuner, I could most likely live without the others I have on my board.

Nothing wrong with that at all! I've thought about a delay myself but I dont use the effect a whole lot honestly. I mostly use an overdrive just as a volume boost or I will set the amps over cleaner and use it to add a bit of gain instead of channel switching ( which believe it or not , I actually dont use a whole lot of gain anymore as it muddies up the sound; it just sounds like it I guess lol).

The Chorus I like a lot, especially running it in stereo and it causing an inadvertent delay between the amps. Technically, there might be a 3rd pedal in there if we're splitting hairs since one of the amps has internal digital reverb and I engage it a lot with the foot switch. It's definitely more pronounced than the other amp with a plate reverb. I usually turn that amp's reverb off entirely and use the other amp's digital reverb on the left side of the stereo

My Traynor has on board spring reverb. Pretty much run that on 3 all the time. I do have a compressor on my board. I don’t get crazy with the settings. So in some ways it acts like a clean boost. Came in more handy playing my acoustic at church. Big difference in my output to the house. I don’t always kick it on when playing electric.

As for delay. My Carbon Copy died. While I don’t get crazy with it, I found I really missed it till I replaced it. I just like the combo of the on board amp reverb…. Chorus…. And delay. Playing clean, to my ears there’s just more depth to what I’m playing. And since I’m at home entertaining no one but myself. Isn’t that all that really matter?? ;)

So it seems by the lists here, an overdrive is pretty darn essential ( or two in some cases!) Lol. There have been times, playing more gainful at least, that a Noise suppressor seems really needed to cut down the hiss. Seems as if Delay has popped up a few times here too.

Like anything I suppose, it's super easy to get lost into a bit of an addiction when dealing with gear. I'd like to keep it to about 3 or less myself. So I guess I've been wondering what's something else that would be highly essential. Everything here has all sounded like really cool options.

Picking 3 wasn’t as hard as I thought.
Although, my mini polytune3 and 10band EQ I really like, but if it came down to it. I could do without a tuner and EQ on my board, but they make things convenient

Truthfully, if given the chance without having a frying pan smacked across my head from my wife; id load up one hellacious monstrosity of a board lol

But in fairness, she did get me my most recent pedal so maybe I've broken her down in this war of attrition
